Tasting Notes: This is 100% Mourvèdre that is a blend of two vineyards, the La Vista Vineyard in Paso Robles and the Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard in eastern Santa Barbara County. This wine has layered complexity with Moroccan spice, herbs, roasted meat and brimming with red fruits like raspberry and red plum. The finish is velvety with fine tannins.

Tasting Notes: This is our first year working with this unique vineyard from the Chimney Rock area on the west side of Paso Robles. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a true expression of what Paso Robles Cabernet is all about. Dark red fruit, cassis and the typical raspberry and white pepper we get from many of the Paso Robles vineyards we work with. Immediately drinkable in its youth, this wine is a great match with a spicy dry rubbed flat iron steak.

Tasting Notes: This wine is made from 43% Cabernet Sauvignon from Starr Ranch Vineyard in Paso Robles,12% Mourvèdre,from Santa Barbara Higlands Vineyard. Included is 18% Merlot and 7% Syrah from the Cedar Lane Vineyard and 20% Petit Verdot. This wines first impression is of complex herbal undertones leading to blackberry, raspberry, cedar box and a trace of dark chocolate followed by more subtle nuances of black olive and cassis. Enjoy this wine with a nice rib-eye steak fresh off of the grill.


2010 "el Chico" Central Coast Syrah

Tasting Notes: This is a mix of both cool climate and warm climate Syrah. A blend from the cooler Cedar Lane Vineyard in Monterey County, and from La Vista Vineyard and Estrella Farms from the warmer Paso Robles area. Look for notes of violet, lavender with ripe blueberries on the nose. This wine is dark purple in color, with blackberry and pepper on the palate.

2011 Derbyshire San Luis Obispo Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes: The vineyard is located in San Simeon, right next to Hearst Castle and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Fresh strawberry and raspberry with sweet red fruit flavors coat the palate and are energized by a zesty minerality, with no rough edges or obvious tannins. On the nose, Asian spices add an alluring note. Seamless and sweet on the finish, taking a dark turn to blackberry and cola.

Tasting Notes: This is our Mourvèdre dominant Rhone blend. 50% Mourvèdre from the La Vista Vineyard, 33% Grenache comes from the Rolph Vineyard. Both of these vineyards are on the west side of Paso Robles. 17% Syrah comes from the cooler climate Cedar Lane Vineyard. The flavors are rich and ripe with a nice core of dark fruits. Lush earthy flavors with Black cherry, blackberries, provencal herbs and sage. This wine is young but shows tremendous potential for those with patience.

Tasting Notes: Each vineyard has its own distinctive personality, but the Rancho Ontiveros Vineyard is immediately recognizable for its note of wet forest floor, cracked white pepper and rose petals. This Pinot Noir manages to be both feminine and masculine, with forward bold muscular strands of fruit tamed by genteel nuances of roses, violets and minerality.

Tasting Notes: The nose on this wine is unbelievably dark, dense, complex and brooding. Scorched earth, minerals, dark chocolate, smoke, chocolate covered cherry, espresso… the flavors keep on coming. A distinct graphite component, reminiscent of a young top notch Bordeaux, adds to the appeal. What really gets you with this wine is the texture. Oh so, creamy and rich with a velvety finish. It’s the type of wine that you just don’t want to swallow. Pair this with a nice ribeye steak.

We are particularly fond of the mouth feel of this Pinot with fine and elegant tannins that caress the tongue.

Tasting Notes: This is a blend of all of our Pinot Noir Vineyards. The blending of all of these vineyards gives us a wine that pulls the together the best characteristics from each vineyard to enhance this beautiful wine. Spice and intensity from both the Rancho Ontiveros in the Santa Maria Valley (27%) and the Boulder Ridge Vineyard (23%) in western San Luis Obispo County. Brosseau Vineyard (33%) lends to the mix its unique exotic components. And to frame the picture, the minerality we love from the Cedar Lane Vineyard (17%). This is a wine that does not highlight a single vineyard, but showcases them all.
